Take Time to De-Stress

With summer well and truly behind us, it’s time to get into gear for autumn and all that it usually entails.

As we head back to school, uni or work, and our schedules all crank up a gear or two, this time of year can have a huge impact on our health.

As well as the natural seasonal changes exposing you to illness, the rush of activities means both your mental and physical health can start to feel a strain.

To make sure you perform at your best for whatever challenges come your way, treat yourself to a stress-detox retreat, to feel rejuvenated and re-energised for the coming months.

Take a deep breath

Yoga is a great way to detox your mind from the build-up of stress, anxiety and fear.

As life gets busier, it’s important to take a breather for a moment or two, to re-focus your attention and nurture your mental health.

While yoga retreats are fantastic for dedicated yoga practitioners, a less intensive alternative is a shorter yoga holiday or retreat that builds in meditation and gentle yoga with other activities, helping you to relax, unwind and recharge your mind and body.

Get moving to get happy

Exercise is another great way to bust stress and revitalise your physical and mental health.

Exercise is a natural way to boost your brain’s production of endorphins, hormones that lift your mood, overcome depression and act as natural painkillers.

If you’re new to working out then a gentle start with a low-intensity exercise like Pilates is perfect for you.

Try a short retreat schedule, which incorporates gentle activity along with a healthy detox diet, to help you regain fitness and improve your health and energy levels.

Eat well and feel fantastic

It’s tempting to reach for the sugar-packed, carb and fat-laden treats when we’re in stressful situations but in fact, they make you feel worse, making you more lethargic, fatigued and can worsen stress-related conditions like candida or IBS.

Treat your body to a healthy detox by flushing out your unhealthy diet and replacing it with delicious and nourishing foods.

Raw foods and smoothies are a great way to get fresh, essential vitamins and nutrients into you, these can boost your energy levels, improve your skin and nails and hair, and boost serotonin production, a key hormone that raises your sense of well-being and mental agility.
